VERY RARE MABEL LUCIE ATTWELL - BICKY HOUSE MONEYBOX +

Very Rare Mabel Lucie Attwell biscuit tin / money box which is in the shape of a small cottage and has designs on all four sides and the roof by Mabel Lucie Attwell. I believe this tin dates from the 1930s. It was from a range of biscuit tins for one of the main manufacturers of the day which showed designs by Mabel Lucie Attwell. The other two are in the shape of a Mushroom and a Christmas Tree. These tins are very rare and do not often come up for sale. Once the contents had been eaten the tin was commonly given to a child to play with which is why so few remain in good condition. This tin is, for its age, in very good condition with no major dints to the tin and minor bits of the paint work are missing. There is a money slot to the roof where children could save their pennies doubling up the use of the biscuit tin to a moneybox. This would be saved in the roof part. The body of the tin could then be used for putting things in. Above the door on the house it says Bicky House
